Howzat Fanatics,

Have an issue with vibration/Steering wobble @ 80km/h when braking only.Front discs & pads already changed.Upon research,I found that the lcab could be the problem. Please advise if it is the issue from experience.Mileage 125000km M-Sport,when I reverse & turn steering wheel to drive off, there is a knocking sound for the suspension. Are all E90 lcab's the same regardless of being M-Sport?Is Lemforder or Meyle HD is the way to go...all comments appreciated...

Later guys...

Not good. Have the car checked at your BMW dealership. Things like suspension & electrical issues on a BMW must be checked as soon as possible. It can be many things: Steering, suspension arms or even rims/tyres.

Most decent alignment places should be able to help you identify suspension issues once the car is on the ramp.

Well i have the same problem at 120km...

Took it to BMW and its my wheels that are buckled.
Also get the knock when turned full and go forward.

If you got those hot looking kaak quality OEM 18s. That could be your problem as well.

I know a few guys where the OEM 18s and 19s are buckled. All sport packs....

The beauty of RFT :nonono:

Tell me about it....And its like 3k to do all 4 wheels. Motorplan doesnt cover it which is crap cos Motorplan wants those wheels and tyres on.

Another 10 000km and i can fit my 19s:joy:

Do some of your own midnight runs and it will be there very quickly.

haha im trying to keep it low for the next 4 months so i can squeeze in the last service through motor plan by December. And maybe try and replace a few more things before motor plan ends. Already billed plan with 50k in the past 2 months.

Problem is those headlights from Vsomai...Want them so bad but will do it after plan ends lol

Sorry for the hijack @320dtoy...But seriously just check the wheels:thumbs:

Check the wheels first, wheel alignment check should be free & they would point out any obvious problems

Keep us posted once you have had this all checked! Sounds like something has worn out based on the knocking sound that you mentioned...

Howzat Guys,

Thanks for the comments.Just took my ride to a place called Swift Auto Suspension out on Church Str.-PTA West.I've used these guys before in identifying suspension problems on my RXi.It appears from his inspection that the right Upper Control Arm Bush is PAP.He advised that the entire control arm should be changed ie both sides same time.Car was placed on a machine with plates that the COR guys use.

I see many guys confuse the Upper/Lower CAB & so do I.Basically it is the control arm that has couple bends in it.Sitting in the car,it would be the "Lower Arm" or Tension Strut as identified on Reol OEM.

What are your thoughts on Meyle HD & Lemforder?
