E90 M3 Upgrades WITH Motorplan

Hi guys,so I've been wondering about what kinda performance mods I can do while still maintaining my Motorplan. Unfortunately Schnitzer is out of the question, got a quote for R222,300 from them, which is out of my budget just a little bit.

So my question is,what CAN be done to the car without compromising MP?

Thanks

Besides ACS...

sorry but nothing bud.. Unless you know the mechs etc and they will overlook it but if it's not ACS and they find anything, you may just kiss MP goodbye

keep it stock till MP expires, then go nuts.

No mods unless done by BMW approved is MP friendly, rather leave it, if your MP is important to you.

How much time do you have left on your MP?

Car is currently on 73000km's with extension done til June next year, but I want to extend to June 2015 or 150,000kms.

This is what I was thinking of doing,MP is important cos I've got a wife....and paying for stuff to be done to cars, mods or otherwise, are not usually high on their list of priorities....:biglol:

Thanks for the feedback so far guys, looks like my thoughts have been confirmed

MP Safe upgrades would include:
- A nice detailing
- A BMW Fanatics sticker
- CF/ Black roundels
- A decent smelling car fragrance (careful as lavender fragrance has been known to void mp)

That's about it, sorry bud :fencelook:

Then stock it is for now,not that there is anything wrong with that anyway!

I will definitely avoid the lavender fragrance and pink car seat covers.... but ice-cream runs.....now THERE'S an idea

Some dealers are now approve Akrapovic IIRC, get the exhaust

Sorry u know which dealers sell ackrapovic ?

Any BMW parts can price you the Akra system as far as i know..

You could always fit and exhaust to your car and put the standard one on before it goes to bmw.. Most of the power gains are in the exhaust so you will see a nice difference with a properly built one

Full decat straight pipe system ... Usually a bolt on part , so as many have mentioned , remove just before the car is booked in for the blown engine overhaul- lol, don't know how you'd get around the " has the car been remapped " question though

Sandton BMW does,
Have an M5 there that sounds amazing.

Get an Akrapovic evolution exhaust system, will be expensive but well worth it, and you will keep your MP. As mention above, try Sandton BMW, but others might be able to assist as well.

Software if done properly can be removed without detection, been there, done that

What about gutting the cats? I've been told this can be done for moderate improvements on the power side, and BMW shouldn't pick it up when checking the car,if the sensors are replaced properly. I had my car on a dyno this weekend and wasn't entirely happy with what I saw from a power perspective.....:thumbdo:

Mate, dont stuff around with the existing cats. Get an X pipe system from Xcede then a remap. You can change the X back to stock before a service etc. The remap is hard to pick up if you keep the stock rev limit.

PM me for more details

Well it looks like there is a big possibility I could be relocating to the coast, which is one of the best performance upgrades you can get for a NA car.....:roflol:

Cool, thanks, I will do! Any idea what the cost of the X pipe is? I am guessing there would just be a labour cost to take it out and put it back?
