Hi All

I have an 2008 E90 M3 with 64000km.

I really love the car but it just feels like its a time bomb.
Car gets driven maybe twice a month.

Who is the beste guy to do bearings and at what cost.

Labour and parts split please.

Regards.

Have you done oil analysis? I am under the impression that doing oil analysus regularly will give you an idea of the condition of the bearings.

Just my 2c worth

An oil analysis now without previous records will show no definitive results.

For an oil analysis to have value one needs to have done it on an ongoing basis from new.

If you don't know the previous owner and how they treated the car then just do the bearings and avoid disappointment and a massive repair bill.

Even at 64000km you'll be surprised at the condition of the bearings if the previous owner was a tool.

After doing the bearings proceed to do oil analysis to keep an eye on the situation

This thread would scare me out of owning one :(. I would assume that after you do bearing that you can be care free for quite a while...

As long as you care for the car the way it should be, after having done the bearings, then you're good for another 80 000km give or take

oh yes, oil analysis would have to be done from new, just before a service.

Just do it. Ive done bearings and oil pump, service every 10,000km max... Sometimes less. I drive it lile it should be driven and no problems whatsoever. Do the engine mounts while you there.... Made a difference to the feel of my car.

Thanks for the advice gents.

What is heartbreaking that you put the same parts in that gives problems.

The bearings themselves aren't the sole problem
