Hope everyone is having a awesome week so far

since the last bit of heavy rain i have noticed water is leaking into the cabin but i cant see from where

i drove through some big puddles on the way home and when i was driving on the highway i could hear water sloshing around somewhere and then water started coming out from beneath the cubby hold. Anyone else ever had this issue? :hammerhead:

apart from that i though maybe water just seeped in somewhere but when i took my car for a wash on Sunday i noticed the floor by the bonnet release latch was wet

any advice would be appreciated :blueCry::dunnoanymore:

I feel like this is a common problem,

I had that situation about twice but when there was heavy heavy rain only, under normal rain I don't have the problem, but if it rains very heavy then I did notice twice if I remember water came from under the cubby, I never bothered looking into it cause it was like a few drops of water and it only happened twice,

but what I do know is that the heater fan is under there and it sucks air from the air vents which is in the bonnet so I am guessing some how it leaks through, and when I changed the heater fan bearing thingy I did see some rust there, so I think It might of been that,

would be interesting to see if anyone else had the same issue,

thank you

i will have a look into this. it also didn't bother me to much as water always seems to get its way in anywhere but after going through the car wash it started bothering me because i was my car often and surely something can get wet that should not get wet

I noticed a damp smell twice in my car after heavy rains.

Couldn't tell if it was the mats (from me/others coming in and out of the car)

You've got me thinking now :hammerhead:

On my e87 the culprit was the windscreen rubber seal, saw a puddle on the passenger side after a heavy rain. I dried it up and used a hosepipe to spray water on the windscreen then I saw the water leaking under the cubby, sealed with silicone.

I would suggest you check the scuttle drains on the car. On the E60 it is known to get blocked. On the E60's after washing the car, long after the car is dried, there is still water dripping from underneath. Once the drains are cleared, it drips out much faster.

THe problem is that if sufficient amounts of water start to accumulate, there are grommets and other holes in the firewall section that would allow water if it is standing.

This is where the drain is on the e60, under the cabin filter covers and mine was almost completely blocked. This was the only pic i took, during cleaning.

Facing the car it was along the bottom right corner of the windscreen, where the windscreen meets the rubber. The rubber was no longer glued properly to the windscreen, which let water through.
