Hi Guys I'm just looking for some advice or recommendations.
The car: E90 330i N52 (ZF 6HP19)
The Problems: Clunky and slow gear changes. When taking off from a standing start, the car would roll foward and then once i try and accelerate the RPM would increase and no acceleration would take place, after about a second the clutches would catch and normal movement would take place.. so yes the gearbox is slipping. Recently the car has been changing gear unnecessarily, and when i drive over the groves on the road at the cross section of a bridge the car would rev and not move for no reason.
So i went to ZF and the guy run the diagnostic on the gearbox , and it came up that my clutch B was thin i was quoted roughly R25k for changing clutches.
But seeing as my clutches are running thin at a mileage then aren't supposed to be , coupled with the other recent issues I'd like to have the gearbox fully reconditioned. Prices vary dramatically from around R15k to R60k:dunnoanymore:
From checking on ebay and phoning local parts suppliers this is a rough estimate on parts
Clutches R3500.
Steels R2500.
Bushing kit R2800.
Sonax Zip Kit (to refurbish the valve body) R1800.
Oil and filter R3000.
The torque converter will also need to be reconditioned but that price is dependent on the shop doing it.
So if anyone knows of possible destinations who can assist me or of anyone who sells reconditioned gearboxes help would be much appreciated.
