E90 facelift 320i

Did BMW change the valve stem oil seals on the face lift models or are the motors still the same. Can buy a 2010 320i for a good price but am worried that the valve stem oil seals are still a problem. Do not want to buy a potential problematic motor/car. What is the consumption like on these cars?

Can't answer you on whether the seals have been replaced, I've purchased one a few months back and have had no issues. As for consumption that depends on your driving style, and route. My friend has the same model as me and averages jus over 8L/100km I work in the city so I do 10L\100km when i hit the open road that figure drops down considerably. Anyway you can search the forum on consumption figures I did see a few topics on this.

out Auto 320i LCI averages 8.4l/100km mixed driving and i get it down to 6.7l/100km open road to durban ... as for the valestem seals ... im not too sure if they have been " upgraded " .. doing 68k km and no issues thus far my side ...

I have an LCi E90 320i and my valve stems seals are gone.
Light white smoke out the exhaust so they were not upgraded with the facelift models.

My mileage is currently 164k kms.
The smoke started around 300 kms ago so it lasted quiet long and was never changed before.
I have had the car since 55k kms.

Sheldon, is your's manual or auto and what type of consumption do you get in town and on the open road?
Am not too worried about the valve stem oil seals. Want to get this car for my wife to get her out of her Sparkie but not sure as she is quite attached to that little car of hers. Sparkie is like new with only 23k kms on the odo.

Its a manual and i get 8.7l\100kms daily driving in JHB traffic and below 8 down to Durban
