I am considering a set coilovers for my E90 320d and would like to know if anyone has advice or experience in this. I am looking for something reliable and reasonably priced.
I would strongly recommend BC racing. Depending on what you feel is reasonably priced ? They just over 10k but quality is phenomenal. Extremely comfortable because of its damper adjustment.
+1 for BC. I have them on my E92 M3. I removed the EDC shocks and they are leaps and bounds better. I've got another M3 with EDC and driving them back to back, BC's feel solid yet comfortable. No noises.
My little understanding of this process leads me to believe that the bump stop and helpers, while it ensures that the car doesn't bottom out ( doing 40 over a high enough bump could cause the lowest part of the car to touch), it makes for a little uncomfortable ride as it might be constantly hitting the helpers and bump stops with coilies ( especially if it s set quite low and has considerably less travel compared to OEM)
If your coilover setup has damper settings this can be alleviated a little, but low is low and less travel on the shock induces harsher movements.
