E90 Brake Pads

Hi All

Just as a matter of interest.
If I had to change the brake pads on me E90, will the computer reset or will I still have to take it to BMW to have it reset.

I am sure that at some point I will take over the servicing myself. I am just worried about the onboard computer. Are there other places besides BMW that have diagnostic equipment?

Thanks

Yeah sure, most reputable after market service and repair places have the diagnostic tool. Bosch service centre, Tunetech and others

The brake sensor cables are not linked to anything in the PC that needs to be reset. Once the sensor is tripped, all you do is replace the pads, get a new sensor cable and the light will reset itself. Better yet, if you replace the pads BEFORE the sensor trips, then you don't even need to get a new sensor.

Replaced mine last week at Hi-Q. There's no need to reset, but they must replace the brake sensor. Pads plus fitment came to R737, sensor is around R130.
