I have to open with the key. I tested and there is power to the lock but no power signal if i press and of the bottons.

Try the reset button inside the cubby....

had the same probs with mine a while back.

actually used google and found some info on the valet switch in the glove box. My e90 does not have this. It sems to be an option.

Asked my dad to check in the glove box and he said my son was playing around there. and yes my son managed to put the switch off....

All sorted now ...lol

Won't your warranty cover it- is the car more than 3 yrs old?

I checked my e90 as well and it does have it...

The purpose for this is if you wana wash your car or something you can put all your valuables in the boot. Flip the switch in the glove compartment to lock the boot, lock the glove compartment and hand the guy your remote and remove the key.

Nice idea...

I use this feature alot when i go somewhere after work and still have my laptop with me. Just gives you that little extra peace of mind....

I am also in the habit of removing the actual key from the remote when i send my car into the stealers or the occasional carwash etc..this way the cubby is locked and there is no way to "easily" open the boot
