E90 BMW passenger door locked

hello there

Weird thing happened with my E90 320d pre lci yesterday ...
Passenger door locked and refused to unlock whether via the fob or inside manually.

Any help on maybe how i can get it unlocked or the solution to this problem?

Thanks

If I’m not mistaken, common problem is the fuse. Not sure exactly which fuse but google is your friend :) otherwise the actuator itself. But try the fuse first

Hey,

I just had mine fixed 2 weeks ago.
The issue is that the actuator needs to be replaced.
If I'm not mistaken it won't be the fuse as the fuse would only blow if it was the driver door that experienced this problem and if it is the fuse then all the doors would not work.
I had to buy a new set of actuators from BMW which I paid 800 bucks for a pair, please do not buy 2nd hand.

To open the door, you would need to lower the window and then loosen the door panel from the top while standing on the outside of the car, however, I did not do this myself, I had someone do it for me as I was too scared to mess up or break the door panel.

If you can find someone who has experience in fixing its, then it takes less than 30 minutes to replace.

The person who did mine confirmed that BMW actually has not changed or improved these actuators and are actually using these same actuators in pre-lci and lci as well as in the F30 models

Had the same problem 2 years back.

The fuse was blown. Replaced with a higher amp fuse and it worked fine for over a year.

The reason the fuse blows is because the actuator is on its way out. The actuator will eventually fail after replacing the fuse.

+1 on the actuator. It is a very easy job to do ,especially if you have done it before. When I bough my actuators there was just one small niggle - the actuators didn't have any thread in them where the bolts were supposed to fasten to,so I had to tap them, but other than that it was a very easy DIY.

Those actuators are a known problem
The agents will charge you roughly R800 for a pair as BMW has a discounted policy on them.
There is a left one on offer on the forum so speak to the op and see if you can buy it for R350/R400
