Just thought I'd update. I managed to get the charges withdrawn which was no easy feat :praise: So the court appearance is out of the way. Just dodged a bullet. Now I'm sitting on the fence as to whether I should do the software or not :hammerhead: There's always fuel savings right?:fencelook:

@OPC Yeah Lee is meant to be doing mine. He's just waiting for dimsport tool to arrive (been a week now?) and after the whole drama with the traffic department I'm not too sure I want to give my right foot more freedom.

Decisions decisions :dunnoanymore:

Was in the same boat with the whole speeding thing man, but you already have too much power to be afraid of speeding :biglol:

Your diesel consumption could improve after the map, BUT then you must also know that it can be worse when you get on it and drive hard.

So I drove for a week using the cruise control to obey all local and regional laws :tiptoe: and managed to average 6.5L/100km out on the open road. 7.5L/100km in town. Do people really drive like this? Literally did not press the pedal more than a quarter way down and let the cruise control take over after that.

Still I'm getting the software done this Friday. Hopefully I can hit these numbers without having to stop driving basically.

I don't daily drive my car, but was forced to do so for the past month.

I filled every tank to the first click to keep it consistent.

Daily commute from Centurion to Randburg in peak traffic and then 2-3 trips daily between Randburg and Roodepoort.

Average consumption worked out manually (not OBC) was between 7.1 and 7.7l/100km at average speed op 47-50km/h.

Open road I get low 6s or high 5s with ease.

Mods are RK file, N54 intercooler, XHP gearbox software and downpipe.

To add - I generally do not stick to speed limits when I achieve these figures. I still make use of the power from time to time.

In theory the car should be marginally lighter on fuel after the SW due to the increased torque. The point of doing SW is not really better fuel consumption. Sometimes your fuel consumption might get worse due to more spirited driving. I used to average in the 7s in traffic and 6s on the open road with an average speed of 140. I did get 5l/100 once going to Dubs at an average of 110 kph
