So last weekend I had a track day at Zwartkops and got to put the bm around the track..I have a set of 18s with semis on the rears ...took a few sessions to get the confidence up and managed 1m18.7 ...far from impressive but did not hit any walls or hit any kitty litter....stock suspention is pretty impressive but decided to fit some coil springs during the week....
In some track pics u can see the body roll lol.
Ideally I will fit a set of Bilstein coilovers but for now fitted a set of Cobra springs...they very unknown locally but had decent reviews overseize ....I have had eibachs and a set of hnr ....eibachs tended to be quite hard and bouncy where as hnr were softer comfort wise but more or less same stiffness when you pushed the car .
I was reluctant to fit the brand of springs but after a few emailss to the producers over seize they raised my confidence ....I opted for the 30 mm front kit and 20 mm rear....on the msport setup it's prob dropped about 25 mm in front and 15 mm on the rear..enough that I have no rubbing with my 19 inch setup...rear wheels have now got a slight camber but I have not taken the car for alignment yet...will let it settle for a week or so...next track day is at redstar so will be able to comment on track difference ...will let the car settle as well and take some more pics .
However so far the car feels very good..a bit stiffer on the road and can feel the road when you hit a bump etc...front ends seems allot tighter and turns in way better ...the backend has less tendency to step out but if I give enough gas it still kicks out easily ...there is less boat feel on the car specially changing directions ...like I said this won't be every ones choice but for the money spent I'm impressed..how ever I will be saving up for a decent coil over setup in the near future..a few pics below of the track day and pre and after
