E90 325i Stalling

Hi Guys,
I have a 2006 325i m/sport, recently the car stalled at the traffic lights and then on the idle it was very violent until it cut off. After a few minutes i started and it seemed fine. I will take it through for diagnostics this weekend. A guy i spoke to said he will clean vanos filters and flush the engine for a cost of 2500....... any idea if that price is up to par? or any idea what may be the cause of this??

After many of times back and forthl my car has been at Ross Duncan for the past three days now, errors picked up by diagnostics was vanos inlet and cooling error. I was advised by Ross to do the water pump and thermostat 1st and do the vanos inlet next month co according to my cool aftermarket warranty i can only put through 1 claim per month, so yes the water pump and thermostat will cost a cool 9.5k with the warranty only covering a quarter of the total :yuck::thumbdo:
But it needs to be done so here i go......

any ideas on how much the vanos inlet is going to hurt me pocket????

Get the water pump and thermostat from goldwagen, supply the parts to Ross and let him do the labour, it will be cheaper. :thumbs:

Hi ghost,its not neccessary to replace a vanos solenoid

Just get someone who can clean it for u with a brake cleaner

MAF on my E38 also caused it die every alternate time when stopping at traffic lights etc.
