Hi Guys
so been noticing that my car has been lazy starting for a week or so, but intermittently? then had the car parked the whole of yesterday, and when i jumped in to start the car jus makes a click sound and does noting?, everything else seems to work however? so i get my booster pack pop the bonnet and try boosting? still no luck? so i get my domestic helper to help me push the car onto the drive way, an i kick it in reverse...bam the car starts? so drove it everything seems fine.

Pulled it back in, and this morning same scenario?
do you think its a Bendix issue or starter maybe? crank sensor?

any help would be appreciated guys  getting it out on the diagnostics today.

I would start with the battery first, check that out first. Had the same issue and after a jump start it was fine.

Strange that it won't start after boosting....

Maybe the battery's going out or a loos wire connection somewhere

I agree, have the battery tested and check connection, if its not that then most probable the starter is on its way out.

Chances are it's the battery! Mine was almost about to die towards the end of this past winter! Anything near a week standing and it would turn over very slowly. So I will have to think about replacing the battery this coming winter I reckon!

its your battery....

my car stood for a week and i came back. battery totally dead. took booster pack - car wouldnt start. then jumped it after a long while. went for a nice long drive hoping it would charge. the following morning started it - but same thing. had battery tested and it was beyond broken. dead cells. bough a new one and now starts first time..even after a week of standing

but my main concern, was why would the car would not even start even with the booster attached??

Could be that there wasn't enough crank power in the battery to swing the motor

Sent from my HTC One X using my finger

didnt get a hold of the guy yest afternoon and when i went by afterwork he had closed up already, but im finishing of early today, gona take a drive out there and check whats going on. . .

@Dr evil - surely if the booster pack is supplying the power that of a battery would, should have no effect?? so i didnt make sense? unless theres some computer/ecu that controls the power output regardless.

i know with my e36 weekend car sometimes when the battery is as flat as can be, the booster starts it without hesistation

Try the dealers first to get a price. Not sure if there is anything special about the E90 battery, but you should be able to use any other well known brand of the same size

No wonder the jumper cables did not work because you need the thick 650amp or 800amp jumpers. those cheap thin jumpers dont eork and you can chuck them in the bin.

tell me about it, plus those Denzo starters dont come at a cheap price, my Auto elec, mentioned that the Denzo starters are much stronger than the bosch ones, so if you replacing that the brand that should be chosen?

anyone had any different experiences?
