e90 320i - service schedules

Morning!

I have a 2009 e90 320i, which despite the lack of voomah is a real joy.

I am rapidly approaching the 200K mark and and reaserching what large ticket service items are on the horizon.

I had the valve stems done by BMW at roughly 120K and all other services (bar the brake pads & discs) have been done at the dealership.

What could I be expecting?

Where can I get my hands on the service schedules?

Hey PaulWW...

Mine is 2010, agree with you besides lack of power and baaad fuel economy (wife's lead foot) she goes well...

I'm on 127kms, what forced you to get the valve stems done.....Was there any warning signs or recommended due to the mileage?

I know it's off topic but looking to add to my limited knowledge on managing this car out of plan....

Thanks

No problem, yes the fuel consumption is not the greatest. I get 11km per liter average and my business has evolved to roughly 38K km per year so yes, the consumption bites.

Next step for me is into a 320d.

Valve stem seals is a common issue on this motor, sadly.

White smoke on pull away and start up are the tell tail signs.

I had mine done at SMG Century City in Cape Town and was VERY happy with thier approach and overall service. They cut straight to the source and did not do all the test to make 100% sure, so the costs where a fair bit less than they would have been.

Hope this helps.

Take a look at the suspension and cooling system. The bushes are probably shot now and would need to be replaced, have someone look at the whole suspension.

The cooling system is more preventative maintenance as the electric water pump fails anywhere from 150-200k km. Replace the thermostat at the same time.
