E90 320D Still a Good Buy?

Hi All,

I have also purchased an e90 320d (08 model but with the N47 engine). I am currently based in northern JHB and would like to know which are the best workshops/mechanics that I can send my car to?

Both are reliable, but the N47T is the one to buy if you envisage a 20d.

1. Power difference of 15kw and 40nm.
2. Issues leading to timing chain and turbo failures sorted with the N47, more over the with the N47T (Apr 2010 and onwards)
3. Preventive maintenance would be regular oil changes, egr-delete, swirl flap-blank and a decat on both platforms.

EGR delete stops soot clogging, cooler air, cleaner intake. Best is to physically clean intake manifold as well. Swirl flap delete removes parts that can break and kill engine.
Downpipe less back pressure, faster turbo spool, more power and some sound to it.
