That is very similar to what I want. Might even prefer that above the 335i look.

How much would that roughly set one back Ralf? If I already have the motorport bumber.

it depends on whether one attempts to retain and work around the existing box which is only a single output, ideally the rear box is replaced with a "one in two out", then the one out is attached to a single Y-piece tailpiece, and the second out from the box is used to run a pipe across to the opposite side, and then dependant on space constraints, either two single tailpieces or a Y-piece to achieve the 4 pipe look (functional)

herco do you have the bumper and the diffuser for the dual exhaust? I personally think it is overkill on a 4cyl diesel. I have seen a few with the single outlet and it looks good, but can understand wanting to be different

Hi Sasgh, I am still in two minds. I do agree that it is overkill for a 4cyl diesel from a 'performance' point of view. But I love the look of the dual exhaust system on the 335, and I can make mine look exactly the same.

I think my diffuser only has place for exhaust on left hand side where the droopy exhaust is now.

Do as miost of us 320d owners have done, cut off the droopy (cause its fugly) and fit a twin tailpiece.

I think I should do that, then when I do my performance mods ect I might go the 335i route. Will drop by noise boys tomorrow morning and see what tips they have to offer.

Or I might just go do the whole 4 pipe thing, who knows... :tiptoe:

How much should that cost all in all you think? I dont want to get ripped by an exhaust shop? Around R1500?

When I had my 320d I spend R450. That was for a tail piece that goes from the box (1) and split into two. Didnt change the box.

Where did you get it done? Did you just buy the tail piece that you liked?

I am also quite curious as to how this works.
Vishal go to noise boys in Hatfield by the gautrain station. I did my 325i with them and they cut off the old droopy exhaust pipe after the back box and weld on the new pipes for you. It costed me about R 500 at the time which is around 5 years ago. You also get to chose from a range of tips.

Hi Gents,

Have a 320d E90 as well. I did the same conversion at Noiseboys in Centurion. It set me back R750 which isnt bad. It looked great. I did the "Y" style twin pipe on the left hand side. Basically they welded off the old ground facing pipe and welded on the new piece. It however made a moer of a noise when driving. I quite enjoyed it, lol. Was louder and more whistly. After a year i removed it though. It was great for a little while. Trying to sell the car so took it off. (R250.)

i wouldnt suggest you cut your original diffuser, get another one, cutting it would make it look cheap.
