Morning All,

My friend's 320d this week lost boost while going around a bend. After investigation we found this

:cry::cry::cry::cry:

Stealers wants to much for a new one. Do you think this can be repaired by just buying a core or must the complete turbo be replaced? We tried to check the actuator as we get code 44CC on the vehicle but cant seem to see if this is still working? And where can we find the best price for a recon of this one or replacement.

There is no smoke coming from the exhaust so we do believe the motor didn't get damaged during this.

Any advice will be much appreciated in this

So that looks like the cold side, firstly remove the entire boost system so ic, pipes intake mani everything! And make sure its flushed clean so no remnants of the turbo are left behind. Secondly diesel turbos don’t rebuild well so I would suggest a secondhand unit from a scrap yard or give turbo direct a call they can supply you with a new unit at the best prices.
