E87 120i fuel filter

Ok so I think my fuel filter is on its way out.

05 120i, its having difficulty starting, like is inn it just cranks.

As i hit the start button it wants to start initially and then nothing, eventually tapped the petrol and it started.

Drives and idles fine once its going..

now where do I find the fuel filter on this car?

car has just over 100 000km on it now so im sure its time to get replaced.

probably your fuel line
fill your tank up
add a bottle of fuel injector cleaner
and take it on a nice long spirited drive
should clear it up

If the fuel filter is blocked, the car would run badly as well. Why would the fuel flow normally once the engine is running but not when starting?

Seems to me there is something else causing the hard starting, could be many things such as a worn fuel pump, bad injectors, worn spark plugs, broken crank/cam sensor, even a temp sensor.

Best you get the car to someone knowledgeable who could do a diagnostic scan to see what pops up.

I have 2006 116i which has the same problem as well. Sometimes I need to try starting it 5 times.

Sometimes it starts and then the engine stalls.

The vehicle has over 270,000Km
