A pair of cams and am prepared to put R100 on the table.

Will have to stick with Uncle Pete on this one...lets see

Andy do you have the part numbers of the clips you need to replace when cleaning the Throttle Bodies/ICV?

the clamps from the intake you re-use... the ICV one's use normal pipe clamps

Here is a fairly sizeable update.

So I finally gathered all the bits and bobs and decided to go with OBDworx for software. Which was my only main concern.

I started yesterday afternoon and savoured every moment working on the glorius S54. It is also a pleasure working on the Z4M given its ample engine bay space.

Solenoid pack is fairly straight forward to remove hence I didn't take pics of that

The besian seals Peter fitted still looking great

Cam sprockets coming off and bolts replaced with new oem ones. Also fitting loctite on them for peace of mind

Keeping a Gclamp on the chain to weigh it down. So the chain doesn't come off the bottom idle gear

All the yoghurt tubs coming handy to keep the nuts and bolts in sequence

I meant to say in my post that my only concern with the cam install was software. It was the only thing holding the build back. But not anymore :)

Big thanks to Gert Shaun and Peter for all the help during this exciting build. Words cannot describe my excitement :joy: I'm having sleepless nights :)

Started the car this evening and quite chuffed at the result :) Slightly rough idling with the warm up process but once the secondary pump stops things smooth out almost to a stock nature. It sounds slightly deeper than before which is exactly what I was hoping for.

First test drive will be tomorrow sometime but I still have to address the following

1. Looks (wheels)
2. Brakes (fronts are finished)
3. Gearbox oil
4. Service

Then Friday morning 0500 it's dubrun time. Let's see how those K04 GTI's react when this Deben stock M rocks up :fencelook:

Dean I look forward to it. Should be an interesting exercise to see whether all this $$$ and effort is actually worth it in the end.
