As the subject states I'm trying to determine if there are any E63 M6's in S.A. with manual transmissions. If any I realize they must be rare, but I would murder to get my hands on one.

NO... M6 and M5's locally came only in SMG here... North America got a Manual version of the V10 M5.

Last i heard, Andy had a V10 M5 with a manual gearbox from a V8 M3 fitted. (could be wrong though) You can make him a mad offer for it :D

Thanks for the info. What a shame though. :thumbdo: How much fun that must be to drive 6sp MT coupled to a 500Hp N/A V10. I cant imagine getting much closer to motoring heaven.

Where did they go? I heard somewhere that only around 400 manual E63 M6's were ever made. I wonder where they went.

I just stumbled onto another forum where this was discussed. Apparently it could be done on the old SMGII from the E46 because they were both essentially the Getrag 420G. So with a new bellhousing, clutch, shifter and neutral return spring the SMG II could be converted to manual.

This doesn't seem to be the case with the SMG III. Theoretically it could be done, but the shift pattern is crazy and would not make any sense spending the time and effort to convert it to manual.

My dream of owning a M6 manual seems all but gone :blueCry:

Andy has the only manual M5 V10 that I know of.

Maybe ask if you can have a peak at his.

My buddy has told me that there is one in Secunda as well. Apparently the guy works at Pinnacle auto (BMW dealership). Haven't seen it for myself though, so I can't confirm

Hi guys. I've got a manual swop m6 v10. Complete conversion done at home. Did it all myself with no fancy equipment. Surprisingly simple and straightforward swop. Best thing I could have done. Love the pleasure of driving a manual v10. Only thing i havent done is the coding. I have the full SMG kit and gearbox for sale if anyone interested
