E60 wiper blades and aircon micro filter

Hi guys,

I need some serious help on 2 matters for my E60 525i (out of MP ):

1. Wiper blades
I've been putting off replacing these cause BMW wants R700 each!!! I think that is excl VAT too. But they are starting smudge and need replacement.

Does these really cost R700 each, really? Or is BMW just taking me for a ride? Any worth while alternatives out there?

2. Aircon Micro filters:
These bad boys cost R1800 for the the set. Which is okay if they actually last 90,000km as BMW tells me. Thing is, my last set barely made 30,000km before the computer told me it needed replacing. Apparently we have a lot of dust in JHB which shortens the lifetime. I had a friend look at the physical filters for me and they are actually finished (not just the computer going crazy).

Again, any worth while alternatives out there? Imports? Fong kong?

I think that price is way to much for E60 blades. There are many wiper blades that fit 04-06 e60 and the brand is basically top-of-the-line. Price is about $50-$60 pair. But I don't know about the micro filters. Might as well visit some other shops there. I'm sure you can find one with a lower price. Get back here and let us know what you bought.
