E60 prices query

Good day everyone, so I was browsing through car sale sites (as one does) looking at different BMWs and all that and I noticed that on all of them, the prices for E60 models seem low. I was wondering why that is, are they simply losing value or is there something else I'm missing like catastrophic problems that make the price that low?

Amazing cars! I am on my third E60 and am actually thinking of getting a newer model E60 as mine is a 2005. I would gladly recommend them as they are fantastic cars. Nice to drive and the diesel models are very economical. On a recent 4000km trip i averaged about 17km/l at the speed limit. Mine is the 3l diesel manual six speed.

People are afraid of big cars, the 7 series suffers more than the 5 series due to this.

The maintenance on these cars can be more if the car was not looked after, mainly because whatever parts are not shared between other models, ends up being more expensive.

They are just getting old...

I guess that's part of it, but I see them at the same prices as some E46s and some E90s in the sub R100k range and it's boggling to me.:dunnoanymore:

It's one of the cars on my "list" especially with the msport kit, it looks aggressive :thumbs:

So seeing something like a 525i for R60k with 200k km on the clock is normal then? And what kind of non common items need fixing on these cars?
