I think the car sounds great with just the mufflers removed. With hardly any power losses im very happy.

Cold start its a bit boomy and loud but once warmed up its quite civil. With windows closed you can still hear the engine induction noise and its very civil inside.

I was under the impression the car wasnt loud at all until we made a tunnel video.

Sounds good man! Could you maybe post a pic of the system from under the car?
I'm in 2 minds about doing anything on the exhaust coz there's many diff ways to make these cars louder. I'm just looking for the simplest without any losses in torque.
Also, sorry for the questions LOL.

I've spent weeks doing research and decided to start off with the smallest and easiest (reversible) change. I've seen myself how M cars easily lose performance when the exhausts are tinkered with so being very skeptical with this myself.

Here is a couple posts from other sites, its virtually identical to this.

OEM

The entire rest of the exhaust remains OEM. I strongly advise against changing anything else on the exhaust unless you take it to professionals that really know what they are doing.

The primary and secondary cats keep the rasp away. The small resonator also keeps the crackling at bay. The X-pipe is well designed and positioned and gives good mid range torque and top end power.

The downside is the car is quite obnoxious when starting from cold. A deep and loud drone at idle. Quickly goes away once everything is warmed up.

I am very very happy with this result and will not pursue any other change or sound :)

Thanks a mill for the info bud! I think I'll be going this route
And I doubt it'll be me that has a problem with the cold starts, probably the neighbours :roflol:

To be honest I'm not a fan of custom number plates. However after repeatedly seeing the E34 M5 plate, the thought more than crossed my mind when I had to get a GP plate. I am very pleased with them :)

I have one more visual mod remaining to be done. But for the sake of scientific testing im waiting for the after results on software before i change anything else.

I have the new oil and filter waiting as well. But that will also have to wait.
