E53 DRL Question

Asking on behalf of a friend, the owner's manual states that it's possible to activate a automatic Daytime Running Light feature that will automatically turn off the lights when the ignition is switched off.
*EDIT* The car in question is equipped with xenon headlights.

How does one activate this feature?

Sounds like you simply leave the lights on... Test and see if they switch off when you switch off the ignition.

These will merely be headlights on during the day, not necessarily "daytime driving lights".

Does it have the "A" on the left side of off? If not then nogo. The manuals are generics for all models. If it does have the "A" then just leave it on there,

No it doesn't have an 'A' setting, but thanks for the input!
