I guys, i noticed that my front left hand tyre was geeting worn on the inside and took my car in for alignment hoping it would solve the problem. I took it to HiQ and was basically told that my shock was cooked and needed to be replaced. My car is an E46 320i Individual with the sport suspension, SMG in Pietermaritzburg quoted R4100 each:thumbdo:!! surely there should be an after market alternative. PLS pls help i am based in Durban.:cry:

Moranor should be able to help you with this

Your best bet would probably be the Koni Sport. The budget option would be the Koni STR.T, although I'm not sure how that will compare with the BMW sports shocks - maybe to soft?

Send Moranor a pm , he can help with Koni . Could Hi-Q not quote on a Gabriel gas insert ?

Thanks i will do that. They gave me a quote of R1700 for both front shocks fitted but it was Monroe and not sport

The chap I bought mt car (330i with sports suspension) had to do the fronts for COR - R1600 for Gabriel Gas.

But for proper suspension, Moranor's your man.

Gabriel gas are good aftermarket items for the price , check Koni and see if your budget allows that . I hope you drive your 320i fast enough to enjoy the sport suspension .

Gabriel and Monroe are serious down grades from the stock shocks...

Koni is by far the most cost effective solution for this:

price on STR.T now for the e46:
R 2900 front a Pair
R 1640 Rear a Pair

non sports shocks from Gabriel and Monroe will give you a bad ride because they too soft to control the sports pack springs...

STR.T are a good replacement for OEM sports pack shocks

Replaced the OEM shocks on my E46 320 Individual with Gabriel Gas riders a few months ago and I am not very happy with the ride.......my car has the sports suspension as well.......should have gone with OEM or Koni Sport
