e46 m3 smg or e90 330i

you run the risk with either one of those vehciles in terms of gearbox's going south on you.
I know the SMG is technically a manual, but be careful.
One of my biggest dislikes about the e90 is the interior is very dull, but if you can find one fully loaded... E90 still under motorplan ?
But that aside, the E46's out at the moment are in horrid state, and its quite a task to find one that has been looked after, if you can find one that is clean and all is in order, I'll go for the E46 M3, but try and find a manual

true thanks man, yes the 330i is fully specd every extra you can think off and it has motorplan, 65000km done on it, got front spliters, alot off extras, guy wants 250k for it and how will i know if its the 200kw motor, just the m3 has been my dream car the thing im scared about the m3 is services and mantainance,

I say go with your dream car if you can afford it, they are COMPLETELY different. And chances are you would never sit at traffic light going "I wish i went for the 330" if you buy the M. If you had the 330, you might even cry when you see a nice looking M.
That said i agree with leonard, go with a manual, have every bit of the car checked out first, then take the jump and dont look back.

Drive what you love, if you want an M3, then go buy one, if your heart goes that way, then sometimes logic should not apply

I own a e46 M3 SmG, its currently at a panel shop having some stonechips repaired.
So i use my moms e90 330i Auto sometimes,
both cars are very well spec'd

And to be honest driving the 330 feels terrible, look im not saying its a bad car at all, for what it is its exceptional- but it cant compare to the M3.
The m3 feels nimble and responds so much better to every input, from the steering to the throttle response and even the ride.
for me its a no brainer, the e46 is so much more rewarding:thumbsup:

I would choose the M3 cause its your dream car and if the gearbox goes I am sure the guys on the forum will be able to help with a auto to manual conversion

PS I own an E90 335 which I am planning on selling. Fast but I missed the E46 (long story I used to have an SMG, sold it and just bought another one). The 335 is faster than the E46 M3 but it lacks something for me.

^ only difference Douglas is that your new SMG is rather unique and special. It's also THE meanest and most focused street machine to roll off bimmers factory floor. I would even risk the use of our public transport system for 1 WHOLE day just to get a taste of that beauty:thumbsup:
