E46 M3 PROBLEM

I need help from the E46 Xperts please. .My e46 M3 suddenly refused to lock with the key remote and at the same time started draining the battery .I check the battery and see it is a Willard with date of purchase 2014 and reason OK , these batteries only last roughly two years and go out and buy a battery at the dealers because the last one lasted 7 years in my e36 M , fit the new battery and take the car to the locksmith for new key battery , still no joy because the locksmith says there is a problem with the central locking. So I take the car to two different M3 experts , both diagnostics shows no faults. I then discovered that the car does not switch off even with the key out of the ignition , the car remains in accessory mode allowing wipers , indicators and lights to be operated and the odometer stays on indefinitely , hence, the car wont lock with the remote because the car is technically still on. I removed the GM5 module [not a nice Sunday afternoon task] , plug in another , still no joy .
One M3 xpert says he thinks iits the clocks and does a manual check , but the clocks work fine , nothing amiss on what I can see.
I need you guys input please and what the problem can be.

Sounds like your ignition switch is faulty or the ignition barrel isn't turning back all the way.

hi , it turned out to be a live wire that was touching another , the guys who fitted the media/satnav system did not insulate one of the wires to well so it touched another and kept the car on , probably one of the ignition wires that they spliced for power for the system , so when I removed it the wire insulation came loose.
