My C55 driving experience was lots of fun, felt like the engine had far too much torque for the chassis and without driver aids it can be a very scary car.

But if I had a choice I would take the E46

To my experience the 335i is a temperamental car,mine was under motorplan so it didnt affect my pocket,which was a total bill of 280k in just under 2 years i owned the vehicle,if the purchaser is going this route i suggest buy 1 under motorplan.

ok here's my lighter side of comparison with E46 M3 & C55 AMG

E46 M3:

This is best described to me as a hot,sexy,gorgeous slut which oozes sex appeal consistently that a very small percentage of men would not want to get into bed with,shes out there and you know when she enters the room,you feel her presence in every aspect of what she does,you know shes a whore but u just got to have her because you feel more of the man you already are.She is a pure head turner,jaw dropper,that you will get excited about even after banging the crap out of her and then you will still stare at her and say,dam this b*tch is hot...GRRRRR,she is what she is,theres no mystery here,Shes a free spirit

C55 AMG:

This one right here is the pretty,intelligent girl with the glasses,long hair and you will have to introduce in public as she is more the conservative type,once you enter the bedroom thats when another side of here to comes out,once undressed she is now the one in sexy lingerie,leather oufits and becomes a mad b*tch ready to release all you mind boggling fantasies when she flicks her switch,now you in for the other part of her that will leave you think WTF just happened,once all that is over she will then proceed to be completely unknown again until you decide i need the other,this situation is controlled by you!!!!

these comparatives are based on my two cars with the following extras added
E46 M3: Software & De-Catt
C55 AMG:Headers & De-Catt

Anyways whichever one you go for you will find pleasures but in 2 different realms.

My experience with an N54 off Motorplan has been quite different so I guess it's the luck of the draw. Been driving it at high boost levels for about 80000km and besides the usual services and brakes. I replaced 3 injectors and a valve cover . Now I feel it's time to replace the original turbos.

Maybe the N55 is an even better option for reliability.

I think you had complete good luck because by 56000km i already had new turbos, an engine and all the stuff you stated plus more :cartel:

hi all of you fellow fanatics.!
decided too take the plunge , picked my e46 m3 - manual- alpine white - 19 csl ,s - and most important bearings replaced about ten thousand kays ago - clutch and new brake discs and other odds and ends done less than 3 thousand kays ago , she was just to good to let go , I got to know the owner before this car was for sale .Picked her up on FRIDAY and only drove home along N1 and M5 .Was raining on Saturday so I decided not to take out any of the M3's out , then I got busy with another project on Sunday , so will go buy sparkplugs and drain the oil and fill with LIQUI-MOLY[been filled with Castrol at last service , then I will see if she lives up to that cachet of being the best M3 ever , going to be hard to beat my E36 , that car makes me feel like a driving god when I tackle those beautiful roads from CAPE Town to PE. will have to drive them back to back before I sell the e36 .

you are right when you say the E36 makes you feel like a god. I never thought I would hear myself scream oh gawd when she went sideways unexpectedly. ok, I'm lying, it wasn't unexpected. I had every intention of pushing it to the edge of breaking but didn't realise it would be so controlled when it did. the wife elbowed me in the chest though.. but it was worth it.. lol.
