E46 Headlight water condensation

My one headlight on my e46 seems to have water condensation on the inside. My brother had this problem with his golf mk4 vr6 in the states and he drilled a little hole in the centre, is this the best way to get rid of this?

The E46 headlight can split so very easy to do.

While you're at it, install some angel eyes

What do you mean it can split?

I would but its not worth it. The car has 400 000+kms on it. Dont want to have to take the headlights out.

So if i just drill a little hole it should sort it out?

You are kidding about drilling a hole, right? :flyfun:

I was not :p

my brother did it to his golf :p

It would be less destructive to split the lense from the headlight to drain out the water, refurb and then reseal it

Absolutely. Removal and refitting on this headlight is a no brainer. There is no sealant to worry about either. Clips off and back on. That simple!

I had condensation in my indicator lens. Took the lens out, left it in the sun for a day, problem solved. Never had condensation after that. Not sure how the water got there in the first place,

Ok can some one tell me how to take the headlight off. Would i have to remove the front bumper, like the E90. Just simply would do, I'm sure i can figure it out.

I didnt know it could clip off so easliy, I thought it would be sealed. Might aswell take them off and give them a nice clean.

Not at all like the E90. The E46 is easily removable
E90 is hard to remove and near impossible to open. You have to cut it open, you can't even bake it open.

here you go. It's easy stuff. drilling a hole in the center will only cause it to fill up with water every time it rains or you visit a car wash.
