The lcis LEDs do sometimes fail but they are repairable.OppositeLockMT said:DieselFan@TheFanatics said:That can more than likely just be coded without changing the module.kilotango said:if im not mistaken.. to fit OEM LED sets.. you'd need to change your LCM. there may be other wiring changes as well... but its not just a straight swap unfortunately. with standard LCM and LED's you will get strobing and other weird things happening.
those rear light sets can be opened with a dremel and then resealed afterward if you're careful
You honestly can't complain about your lights failing. Yes it sucks. But you did fit "cheap" aftermarket lights. Hope you get the car sorted. Do you not have your stock lights you can fit in the interim.

Haven't had an issue with them for five years now, they may be aftermarket but I assumed these were durable given the cost. Been similar cases with OEM BMW LEDs as well, particularly on the LCI E90.
I still have my older set, the orange ones, but those look terrible to be honest. That would be a last resort.
I suggest trying to separate the tail light and test the LEDs individually. Generally when one goes out a few won't work.
