Vibration at idle and acceleration is evident. Suspect engine mounts and in particular the LHS. No noticeable backlash on gear change but that's because I have an auto.
LHS does wear out first. Pop the bonnet and have someone rev the car (parked) in drive and look at the motor yourself. You'll see it move out of the engine bay slightly. If so then it's definitely them.
