E46 DSC Malfunction

Guys, I drove to Sun City this morning and abt 200ml from the destination, the DSC system totally disengaged where the light as well as yellow brake light stays on. I switched off the car and when I started it again, it stayed on.
Any idea what the problem could be?

Worried if it might give me a problem on the way back to Jhb on Wednesday.

Any suggestions what the problem could be?

Thanks

Possibly your alternator. Mine did that in January (abs, handbrake and traction light), had to refurbish the alternator and change the battery.

Check the charge on the battery in the morning before you start up, go for a long-ish drive and test again to see if the alternator is charging the battery properly. If all this is good, perhaps look at Legacy's suggestion.

What Legacy said. Could also be the steering angle sensor. Full lock left for 3sec and the full lock right for 3sec would clear it. But most probably the speed sensor

Thanks for the feedback guys. Alternator was done abt 18 months ago and new battery 1 month ago. Tried locking the steering wheel left and right and the lights still on.

So most probably the speed sensor.

Any idea what's the cost like from the agents?

Howsit bru.

All the other answers mentioned above didnt work for me when I had the above issues.

What my problem was was a small wheel alignment issue, car gets too far out of spec and throws the lights on. Considering you were on the bumpy sun city road I'm willing to bet that was what happened there!

PM me if you wanna chat, even about the car!

Thanks Rhett,
Stopped at Harties on the way back. When I left all lights are now off and everything seems to be working fine.

Yeah forgot to mention that you need to drive about 50km for it to finally reset. But might eventually come back if the fault is still present.
