E46 Dipstick Rubber Hose

Hi Guys,

I recently noticed an oil leak and assumed that it was my dipstick o ring because the metal pipe was wet. When I was looking closer at the dipstick, I noticed that the actual rubber hose that connects to the dipstick metal pipe is broken.

Does anyone know where this hose runs to?

Thanks ChrisBrand for the DIY

I followed the DIY but my 325 was slightly different or more difficult to get to the pipe but I eventually got to it. I then called BMW and there was no stock at any of the local Stealerships. Now with the engine half stripped, I was in a predicament. I decided to replace the PIPE ONLY. I went to the spares shop and paid R30.00 for a 1m length, 13mm pipe. I then cut the old pipe along the red line and removed the old pipe from the connector. I then attached the connector to the new pipe and cut the pipe to the require length. I also used clamps as a precaution.
This saved me over R400.00 for the pipe form the stealership. Note that this pipe is only a breather pipe and does not have any high pressure.
