E46 Coolant Flush

So i decided to do a coolant flush on my E46 over the weekend, everything went great, except for the fact that my hands don't understand how to gently unscrew some of the plastic bits(expansion tank drain plug) on these machines. Problem now is, the drain plug on the expansion tank is leaking a bit, any idea on how to fix that leak? Do i need to buy a new tank or can i just replace the drain plug? If so, how much do those goodies cost?

I had the same problem with mine. The drain screw broke.

Gizmo was able to sort me out with a new one. It has to be replaced though. I was losing alot of coolant.

Not sure if agents sell just the screw.

if i'm not mistaken its R54 at BMW.....

Just ask for a bleeder screw

The coolant drain plug and bleeder screw are two different parts, which one did you you damage?

From your post I gather that you broke the bleeder (nipple) screw that sits on the coolant expansion tank (water bottle)?

hey S1NGH 911, the expansion tank drain plug(Blue one) is leaking drops of coolant. that's what is causing my issue.

Will find out if i can get the drain screw only.

Mine broke as well (only he head came off, so it still seals). Keen to see if you can get it from bmw

I am sure you can get the screw. If not use some pratly epoxy.

My one bleed screw gave way on friday. I bought two this morning at R57 plus VAT each.
