E46 Boot not opening via keyfob

So a new problem, now the boot does not open via the remote keyfob or the pressure switch above license plate. Only way to open is with the key, tail lights work fine.

Any ideas, is their a reset switch or locking switch I do not know of?

The boot does have a valet mode (something like that) but I thing you should still be able to open it with the remote  What is the orientation of the key barrel in the boot?

Other than this I can only think that there is something wrong with the actuator used to open the boot.

if you lock it with the key & leave the lock in a certain direction then it cancels out the remote & interior button functions.. try leaving it pointing another direction

I had this on my 135i and the only way I could open the boot was with the key. I then used the open boot button inside the car (under the steering on my car) and then everything started working again.

Hope this works for u

The key lock is in the vertical position as it has always been. Where is the release button situated in the inside of the car everyone talks about?

Look in your manual. On 135i its by the bonnet lever (just above the accelerator on the right)

Not sure what E46 you have but perhaps not standard on yours?

the e46 release button is to the right of the accelerator, above the bonnet release lever. it is clearly marked.

The key fob, pressure switch and release button use the same electric mechanism. so I would also check the fuses.

Okay found the switch but it does nothing, no clicking or anything of the sort.

Which fuse do I check as the fuse guide does not single out a fuse just for the boot.
