Anyone know how I can do preventative maintenance on mine - most of the time a battery only goes bad (cell dies) when it runs out of water, so can the OE one be serviced or topped up?

I have topped up quite a few so-called "maintenance free" batteries with distilled water in my life, and it has saved me a fortune in replacement costs!

All my OEM batterys besides 1 (my fault on this) have lasted me around 12 years , All are BMW branded VARTA batterys . I say go with OEM .
