E46 Battery

Hi,

The battery on my 323Ci (2000 E46) is on it's last legs. Does anyone know where I can get a suitable replacement in CPT. From my google searches I see that the battery type may be a "668" type (Willard, SABAT, Exide etc), but the price seems to be a pretty steep at the agents.

But in the mean time when I get back to CPT airport on Monday, I just hope she starts up :)

No to the agent route. The car is not under motorplan any more (I hope...) so any good brandname like you mention would work just fine!

Well the car did start this morning

Battery Centre Bellville have a type 652 for R1095. They say it will work. Well running out of choices.

I am a huge fan of Supa Quick in Durbanroad. Probaby because I spend plenty of money with them, but they always give decent prices.

Try them, speak to Marius, Mariska or Henry.

If any institution WOULD like to pay me to promote their brand, please feel free to contact me. Lol

I don't know if I'm a bit out of touch, but isn't that a bit much for a 652? I used to run a 652 in my hilux 3 years ago for R550, but like I said, not quite up to date.

Well dunno. Bought a battery once before (like 5 years ago for my Mazda Astina).

Supa Quick Quoted me on a Willard 668 for R1175 (Just an update).

Replaced a battery on the Corolla a year ago, approx R750. R1000+ sounds a bit step but it seems these days just about everything has gotten more expensive faster than I could keep track. Except my income of course :p

On a side note, the battery in question was a Willard, it was six and a half years old when it finally gave in, which just goes to show, if you do the maintenance, a good battery can last a heck of a long time.

Go to one of those small private motor-spare shops.
They'll give you some discount and their mark-ups are way less than the franchise branches.
I bought a 652 battery for my jeep earlier this year for R680. In JHB tho but it shouldnt make a difference.
