What e46?

For my 318 N42 MAF Is R3200 ON G-drive, goldwagon the same.
Bossautoparts sells sebring brand maf for R1185. I've never heard of sebring brand.

When it comes to sensors, it pays to go with OEM. Generic ones are just not up to scratch.

+1. Generic one lasted 6 months. Second hand OEM lasted 3 years

When I still had my e46 and my MAF was giving hassles, i did some research and found that one of the 6cylinder Hyundai's uses the same Siemens MAF and I'm pretty sure Hyundai sells them at half the price.
Fortunately I sold the car before having to replace it.

R1197.00 for the e46 6 cylinder 328i.

Can't see why a 4 cylinder would be more expensive.

But they are.

I bought a stram cam sensor 2 years ago for R365, dealers wanted R1200. It is still working 100%.

I think it depends on the price difference between oem and generic. If the oem one is 3-4times the price of the generic price, personally I'll take the chance with the generic one.
I need a maf, oem R3400. I can get a generic one for R800-R1100, at that price difference I'll try the generic one.

+1000

absolutely agreed, this is the one place it pays to go oem..

ps. bought my bosch replacement afm from a shop in germany, with import ect. was still only a third of what bmw wanted.. and half of what bosch SA wanted..

pps. on other sensors you could stil take a chance on a generic.. i would. but on a afm its all about the response curve..
