Hi there gents....

Wanted to get some advice here.....

Did a head job and started the car up, everything is running well...drive the car the heat gauge moves past the mid point(we check car is not heating up what so ever....no pressure on pipes, no leaks coolant full....leave it for 3 hours...start it up from cold heat gauge goes up yet the car is ice cold

What could be the issue here???

Taking it to a diagnostic tomorrow

You need to do diag to see the problem, but probably a shot or unplugged heat sensor.

How do you know it's not really overheating though? 3 hours isn't enought to cool it down to "ice cold".

If you are near centurion you are more than welcome to pop by my house and I can help you with diag

Good day gents

Car: E46 323I (Auto)

Decided to source a new 2.5 lump, would like to get some advice from the forum

Price: How Much do they go for currently??

Located in CT (would not mind travelling though)

Best place to get them?

The car uses the 2.5 lump(323)....if I buy the 2.5 (from the 325 E46 or 328) do i need to do any changes to have it running smoothly

Installation: Est price of fitment??

Please not it's not a speed modification, my aim is to run a healthy engine with minimal problems (less mileage) as I will possibly keep the car for another 5yrs
