You can have a look at my thread to see pricing. Unfortunately, it went up a lot this year.

Wow thats just insane price for the unit. Might just buy a unit from bemows and also order that repair kit.

So that I can reinforcement the old unit, those kits apparently last forever and take away the chance for the pin to be sucked in

I am keen on two of those DISA repair kits as well - let me know when you order, and maybe we could split shipping?

Yeah I love buying from ebay, it's super safe, never had a problem before in my life, and the odd ocassion where something got lost (via free shipping) the seller always offered a refund or sent me a new product.

If there's a discount to be had, sign me up.. Just let me know how much it works out to.
Just sent him a message now, will let you know.

Okay so he just replied. Normal price per unit is: (£54.99 + £29.99) = £84.98
, he is offering 3 units at £56.70 ea and he will ship it via express courier (eta 3-7 days).

Cannot understand why this DISA flap is such stupid money to begin with, but with the price increase! Glad you found the fault though!

So received the new disa upgrade units, superb quality and craftsmanship.

Here is pics of the new aluminium unit.

The new pin is tye silver one, it screws on from the bottom through the unit, so there is no way it will fall out and land inside the engine, everything is aluminium., I recommend this to everyone.

I ordered 3 units (2 for BillyBob). And total per unit was just under R1000

Glad youb are sorted, mine was also broken when I opened it in Jan - but it was more like it was stripped, the white cog just turned in the top of the paddle fitting without actually opening or closing us. Made no noises, rattles at all however, I just removed the paddle and re-installed it until the new one arrived.

The local dealer pricing was mad, so I bought from a German dealership through a mate, was 165 Euro. The steel pin can not fall in while the Disa is installed, I'd guess the horror stories are all from them falling out during removal or installing of the Disa - not while in use !

Crazy that we can't get these from Diesel Electric - they are made by Bosch.

Will be installing it tonight when I get home, so hopefully all problems will be sorted. Luckily even the cog is aluminium and the kit comes with a 365 day return policy.

So dis the mod and the car drives smoothly again, idle sits at around 600rpms and engine is very very quite on idle.

The upgrade/rebuild was very easy and took around 40mins which included rebuilding, taking it appart again, and then putting back together and instruction video. The kit came with the following:

Redesigned aluminium Flap
Redesigned aluminium Bell Crank Lever
Redesigned aluminium Pivot Screw
Viton O-Ring for Disa Valve
Lock and Spring Washers
Grease
Loctite Threadlock Compound
Cotton Swabs
