Hey guys
I thought of letting you guys know and costing of the things I have done to my car so far and ask how much I can expect to pay for things i still need to do.
Firstly the service costed me R750 for parts. I did it myself apart for oil change. Racing snake helped me with that because i didnt have a jack.
EGR delete was already done via software by previous owner. The intake manifold is spotless clean. I've done the swirlflaps myself. Didnt cost anything because i used screws to block of the holes instead of the blanking caps.
I had an issue with the alternator regulator. Removed that without removing the alternator and replaced the brushes R20.
Low pressure power steering hose. +- R50
Aircon regas R580 The guy that did the regas is a really helpful guy. He even read the codes for me and car showed to have no errors despite me having an issue where the car wouldn't rev past 3000rpm.
The first time i did the regas we found that the heater was stuck in the open position. I took apart the heater valve and found a little blue cap that fell off. Soldered it back and valve worked again.
The car needs more work to be done but its still takes me everywhere without hassle apart from the fuel consumption. I took a 600km journey this past weekend. I was not driving with eco in mind. I still have a little diesel left in the tank. Shockingly the tank returned around 650km range. First shot i want to take is remove the DPF and fit a downpipe. Now I've got a few quotes. Power flow in edenvale said R2700+- for downpipe or R800 to remove the cat.
Currently my pockets are not running deep so what would you guys advise? Eventually i will do a performance downpipe and exhaust but only late next year.
I also need to still clean out the intercooler and service the auto box.
