Hi All,

I am considering selling the 325i Individual and buying a M3. depending on the answers here I may just keep it for my daughter who will be 18 next year.

I have done the following in the 2 months Ive had it:
- Aircon final stage resister
- Both Back window regulators
- Lower control arm bushes (Original BMW)
- Replaced a Steering bush (original BMW)
- new discs and pads all round
- Full service with plugs etc
- Fitted a BMW CD player in place of the old tape player (shuttle still works)
- New fog light as the one was cracked
- Serviced the sun roof
- lots of other little bits and pieces to improve looks etc

Tyres etc are in good condition. It is 100% standard.

What should I be able to sell it for?

Thanks

I would recommend just keeping it though, not saying you shouldn't get an M3, you just wouldn't get enough for it.

I would probably think something in the region of R110k

Its a prefacelift Sank , I think he's gonna look more in the 90k region , but still they sit on Gumtree , etc forever , and never quite get sold :thumbdo: Keep it unless you wanna give it to me for R 60 000.

Well I was considering an offer for R100k but not sure if its just big talk. I think if I got R100k for it I would take it.

I'd say take it , but if the car's problem free , keep it , take care of her and she'll reward you back

I fixed all the problems so she is problem free and I dont like to sell something to some poor person if I know there is something wrong with it. (the wheel turns)

I think if this guy is serious I will take the offer. If not I will play with it until I get a M3 then maybe just use it as a daily drive.I was warned about giving it to my daughter to use .....insurance, performance for a first car and high possibility of becoming a hi-jack victim has put me off.

Or maybe I just super charge it but then its gives about the same power as a M3 so why not buy an M3?
or track car...........hmmmmm?

2002 should be facelift.

Its pre facelift. I need to check as I am confused now. Cant remember if its a 2001 or a 2002. Will check the registration papers tonight.

Just put your daughter as a second driver on the insurance and you shouldn't have a problem . Also its not so risky nor high risk that you should be worried for your daughter's sake . Keep it as a daily

Pre facelift individuals are rare.... keep it & I doubt its that much of a risk as the face lift individual

I personally dont think you will get that much for it.. :nono:
I got offered R95k for mine, and its a 2003 325 exclusive F/L with 110k km's on the clock.
If you decide to sell, then GLWS :thumb:

I say supercharge it. Go with Burgy from Project shift, I can tell you now, its a lotta fun to drive.

The only problem I have with this is that you end up spending money on something that may just be as quick as a M3. That same money can buy an M3 if I put it together with the money I get from the sale of my car. (if that makes sence)

I would rather have a standard M3 than a modded 325.

what you get offered and what you ask could be two different things.

In the Autotrader there was a 2001 325i Individual with 230000kms on it. They were asking R95k for it. Its apparently sold now!!!

I'll tell you know, the money you'll get for you 325 plus the cost of the supercharger, is still cheaper than a good M3.

We're talking R250 000 +- for an e46 M3.

Your car will fetch R100 000... so you're telling me it costs R150 000 to do a Supercharger conversion.

If you can get the M3, go for it, its an amazing car.

But if it looks like it might slip away from you, the charger conversion is still an option, and believe me, its worth it.

Autotrader has several M3's for around the R200k mark. Including one that has only 96k kms on it. I do about 6kms a day to work and back, so not too worried about mileage in the 90k to 140k km region.

I hear you about the super charger. I used to have a turbo'd golf 2 with around 300kw that I used to race, so I do miss the sound of a dump valve. (yes a hot hatch which you dislike :) )

a non M car is also considerably cheaper on parts if you keep the car long the charger will pay for itself
