e46 325ci 2001 power steering pump

On Saturday this weekend my power steering pump gave in. Was a fantastic Stiff Ride home :biglol: So i take my car in today and get a quote from the stealer's at a whopin 14k for parts :bravo: My next option was a place in Vortrekker road that can fix/recondition mine for R5000. I then spoke to a buddy that got a generic pump (upgraded pump) from Masterparts and paid only +- R1600 for the part? and had it fitted by Bruce's. Have any of you used the generic pump? I don't want spend ridiculous amounts of cash.

Please help me! I need it sorted out this week as i use the car everyday! :argh:

Mine packed up about 3 weeks ago and i got it for that price as well at tonnesen motors Claremont and my friend replaced it for me :thumbs:
So yep it is worth it as i havent heard any complains from the wife yet so go for it i would say...also bear in mind i got the 330i:thumbs:
