Took the car to Fordicks BMW in Tygervally yesterday
The Workshop Forman came to have a look....
He did mention on the M54, the tensioner does not go but i bought it anyway since i have seen how springs Compress by few mm.
He claims its my DISA valve. So i unplug it for him and the noise is still there.
According to him, "the flap still spins" ... WTF? With it unplugged i dont here it spinning no more.. lol... all i hear is Air passing ...
Upon him listening lower down, He still says its the DISA and i should start by replacing that..
Not very professional by asking me to throw parts at the problem hoping it gets fixed.:RedNo:
he ddnt even advise me to book the car in to be checked out...
So i left, angry but with my tensioner.. the springs looked Identical in length.
Replaced it with FULL new tensioner and noise still there. HAHAHAHA
R950 out of pocket..
I ended up going back to AJ for him to Physically look at the car for me..
He took my Stethoscope and started tracing the issue... I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR WHAT WAS NEXT!!!!!!
He traced the noise to its loudest point ..... THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS!!!!!!!!
I DID NOT EXPECT THAT!!!!!!! ...
So for cheap experiment, i took it to my aunties brothers Exhaust place, BUX Exhaust, and i asked him to cut it out and Replace 2 Straight Pipes in its place..
Was a b*tch to get to.. LMAO!.
but with the Exhaust removed, he proceeded to remove the headers and then Cut out the cats and Welded in 2 Pipes
R400 Later ... .NO MORE RATTLES!!!!!!!!!!! AND ALITLE MORE RRRROOOAAARRRRRRRR!!!!!!
Thanks to all who contributed in assisting in finding out my problem...
My Idle is now back to normal and no more Rough idling at 500RPM
Car is way more responsive. For what i thought was " no loss in performance " compared to after this Fix, i can say " ALLOT OF LOSS IN PERFORMANCE WITH THE CATS ON " ..
