Dude. There is a BEAUTIFUL 330i in CPT just waiting on someone. It is for more than the usual <60k you made mention of, but WELL worth it!
He is a member on here as well.

@"UpNcOmiNg!" share the details, out of interest..

Makes far more sense to rather buy an enthusiast's vehicle for a bit more cash, than a cheaper one and then have to play catch up on maintenance. Things add up pretty quick, especially on a car that is going on 15-20 years old.

Any idea where I can have a look at it?

That went downhill from from "mint" and "looked after like you can't believe" in no time at all.

Great that the community has stopped a poor fella from falling into a trap once again

Yeah and I truly appreciate the feedback from everyone.

When I came here at first just to ask some tune up questions I hesitated (registration just to be told what the nearest tuneup shop could tell me) but things always happen for a reason.

Learnt so much and have yet to learn loads more but I'm glad I came here for help. When taking a step back I can see what it must look like to some guys here, the 2 tone mint cab I had in mind, but my idea of respraying and getting stuff done was pure though.

Fresh start, open mind - just need to get a good starting buy now.

I wouldn't hesitate to say this is one of the more active forums in SA. So big ups to the Fanatics for sound advice. @"JakesSA" you came to the right place.

a lot of us here have paid Private School Fees along the way so if we can help prevent any of that we are happy to...cars should be an escapism that gives you tingles like the first time you finger banged that hottie...

A engine that is gleeming like that with Silicone spray... you run as fast as you can. Something is getting hidden a old filthy engine without any oil leaks is far nicer to me than a gleaming one that 5min into the drive is pissing oil out and M54s do love to leak oil.

Also that is not a individual. All individuals were fitted with clear indicators, that one has orange side repeaters it's a bog standard 2.2L 320i. It's a damn fine car it it was left white and on stock squishy 16's as it will eat the miles day in day out. I loved my 320i as a commuter and the M3 for when i wanted to go somewhere quick. That car is all flash and when you peel away the horrid paint you will notice you will be dropping a 1000 every month replacing something. Take the time and go car hunting, you find gems hidden in the most unlikely of places sometimes, heck even stalk someone in a parking lot if you see a E46 you might actually want to own.

Nope not harsh at all mate. I'm super glad I came here, I think everything is going to work out fine soon.

Cheers to everyone's input on this  :praise:

Have only just caught up, but OP if you see a car that heavily modified (custom paint, wheels, interior dye) all of those things are *big* negotiation tools, not plusses for you. If I went to see a car that looked like that I'd instantly lop 10-20% off my offer just because it had custom paint, whether you like that style of paint job or not you still negotiate it down.

Anyway, not sure if you're dead set on an E46, at this point they're in two camps: dogs and solid. The dogs are all trying to sell for prices approaching the solid ones and the solid ones are all priced absurdly (330i E46s with desirable options in pristine shape probably shift for well clear of R120k). Just be careful and make sure to get whatever car you're looking at thoroughly checked out.

Yep I understand those things now, learning along the way.

I think everything is all set now thanks to @"UpNcOmiNg!" for the hook up and I'm feeling way more comfortable since he is a member here, been so much help also off forum with car details etc. Now just the waiting time to get off from work to fly down and collect it, ass is busy munching down my seat from excitement.

Once again thanks to every single one that contributed to this!
Soon to be an e46 330i guy --insert floss dance here--

Interesting, who was selling an E46 330? Except for Riaad who lost his way.

A little late but my 2cents

There is no replacement for Displacement.
Get yourself a M54B30, then do the 3:38 diff swop.

you will have loads of fun

Hey there guys,

Sorry for the delay, big work projects that need to be finalized before year end.

Without any further delay, here's the beautiful 330i I'm getting.
Props to @"///Avi" , what an awesome guy and he is so helpful!

Will be flying down to CT in December once I get the gap from work, days could not feel any longer now!
The car has a history within the Fanatics family so we will be keeping it that way  :chef:

Worth mentioning:

Coilovers (Maxtrac)
18 inch wheels (Te37, 8.5j and 9.5j)
The exhaust is straight piped
Rear PDC
Rear blind
Sunroof
M sport (Mtech 1)
Black leather interior, woodgrain trimming

Woohoo now isn't that a MUCH better example of what an E46 should look like!
