Hi Guys,

I need some help removing the tension pulley, its the 1 with the hydraulic system.

I managed to get the idel pulley out 16 socket.

I tired a 7 allen socket on the tension pully to small the 8 allen doesn't fit.

Now im in a jam i can't get the pulley off or the belt off, i also can't put the idle pulley back since the belt needs to come off.

Now the car is stuck...

Anyone help?

Thanks
Safz

Easiest is to remove the radiator cooling fan if this is a manual and the air filter box, then you have extra working space. Ideally an extra pair of hands is the way to go when doing tensioner job.

You will need an 8mm hex bit for the tensioner, and to remove tension you need to turn this as if tightening. Best is to watch this vid which I found very very helpful when I did the oil filter housing gasket replacement on the same motor...

I used an 8mm Allen key and a spanner for leverage - not as nice as using a proper 8mm hex bit and a wrench!

Thanks Philip,

Managed to get this do done.
The proper tools 8mm hex wrench made a massive diff.
I dont have a torque wrench , hope it's tight enough.

Wonder what the agent would of charged.
