Has it had a turbo replacement yet? If not, it might need one anytime between now and 250kkm, depending on how it has been driven. Replacement lower control arms might be coming up soon, most likely shocks need replacement also. Make sure the car idles well, if not it most likely means injectors need overhaul or replacement, the latter being around R3500-R6000 each x4 former anything from R500-R2500 each. It can however also mean worn cylinders or that it swallowed a swirl flap. Oh, and remove the swirl flaps as soon as possible. (google it)

Hi,

@P1000 - Ive heared that the late 2003 upward 320d's didnt have any turbo issues like the earlier models did. Im not sure how true this is.

They have much less problems, but I have seen at least two very disappointed owners on this forum, Tumo was the one. He replaced the whole engine, an injector and a turbo within 5 months of owning the car (was a 2005 IIRC) and it also had around 100kkm on.

hi all thanks for the comments, really took the advice and checked everything as far as I could
well the lower control arms have been replaced, i'm getting the service records now to see what else was replaced whilst under motorplan, car has FSH with BMW so i'll be able to see everything that has been replaced.
i will opt for a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty costs like R6000 but cover turbo, motor, clutch and a whole lot more.
so now i just need to convince the wife that this is the car for her
thanks again guys, i'll keep you posted
cheers
