e46 320d headlights height adjustment

My headlights adjustment just stopped working last week and now the headlights are stuck in the bottom position. Anybody have an idea where to start looking? Or can it be bypassed and locked into place?

You can try and manually adjust them on the headlight itself, look for 2 screw type fittings, one moves it up and down and the other side to side, careful not to turn it too much, it can slip off the cradle. Unfortunately the electronic adjuster in within the light on the e46 unlike the e36 where the adjuster can be just turned out. Hope this helps

Will try this weekend. Anybody got a drawing on the E46 wiring?
When I switch on the lights there is a noise coming from the lights. Almost like the motors dont have enough power to adjust ligts up or down. Maybe high resistance fault somwhere.
