Did a 4000km road trip last week with my son. We started off in CT and drove to Port Nolloth where we stayed overnight. About 700kms. Left early next morning and drove to Bloem and stayed two nights. About 1077kms. Then drove to Durban and stayed two nights. About 634kms. Left early again and drove to PE on the N2 where we stayed two nights. About 945kms with a lot of road works between Kokstad and Mthatha and hundreds of road humps to calm the nerves!! Stayed two nights and then drove home. About 759kms. Did some sightseeing along the way so total came to about 4630kms. Average consumption was rounded off to 14,5kms/l or about 6,9l/100kms. We stuck to all the speed limits along the way. I recently had to adjust the OBC as it was way optimistic and did a 15% adjustment to get it to read more realistically. Must admit, it is now nearer correct although now it is slightly pessimistic. Need to adjust it again but think i am going to leave it as is as i like doing better in real life than what the obc is telling me. Had lovely weather along the way with very little wind.
